Medicine Today
These days medical practitioners are true professionals employing the latest scientific techniques and technologies both to diagnose and to cure any specific medical conditions. Many of the old diseases that were untreatable in the past we are able to successfully treat these days with a combination good hygiene practices, immunisation, pharmeceutical drugs etc. The medical profession today has specialised knowledge in the areas of cardiology, neurology, gynecology etc. Doctors are often specialists in their field of choosing. Supporting every doctor are a team of nurses, anesthetists, technicians, therapists. Medical surgery is performed successfully on thousands of people every year with success and no pain to the individual involved. Though surgery is far from enjoyable it is far removed from the days of bleeding patients and tots of gin. Hygiene standards have evolved immensely. We are also more aware of the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle including vitamin intake and a suitable diet. These days people have no rational fear to be scared of going too see a doctor at all. Those before us had much more reasons to be fearful.
